Prone to Fires, Kia Spectra Pull Thousands
South Korean carmaker, Kia is rumored to be attractive (recall) Spectra models sold in America.
Kia considers this recall program should be made after notification from the Institute for Highway Safety (NHTSA) Americans on its Web site states that the fuel tank can get off (fall) and cause a fire.
"There is a possibility of corrosion ofon the rope that holds the tank due to "salt " onthe road ,thus reducing the power grip ,"said NHTSA . Although there are no reports of accidents or fires due to the error, but it ordered Kia dealership to replace the string.
Because when exposed to salt which is used to remove snow, metal belt can be exposed to salt and over time will rust and broken belt so that the gas tank car is prone to crash and burn.
Spectra affected by the recall amounted to 58 thousand units produced in 2004-2007. Vehicles are scattered in 20 states in the United bercuaca cold, including Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, and District of Colombia.
Kia plan will start this recall campaign in June and will replace the belt without charging a penny from the owner.
