BMW Z2 Competitors Will Make Mazda MX-5
German car manufacturer, BMW, rumored to be launching a new product, the younger brother of the Z4 roadster, called the Z2.
The plan, BMW Z2 roadster will be a version of the BMW 1-series model, and will also be placed under the Z4, both in terms of performance and price. This new model also will target a competitor of models such as the Mazda MX-5 Miata.
"The BMW Z2 will be built on the same platform as the next generation 1 Series and will have a weight of less than 1,000 kilograms (2,200 pounds)," wrote the BMW in his official statement.
This car will be offered with a variety of energy derived from the four-cylinder engine with a capacity not exceeding 2,000 cc.
BMW will also present a turbocharged version that will increase power output to 250 HP, while the entry level model will start at 120hp.
There were rumors about a hybrid version, but the electric version is also reportedly under consideration the BMW.
The first prototype has been caught on camera while doing tests on public roads in California, so many people hope that the Z2 to make official debut in late 2013.
