Chevrolet Volt in 2011 was awarded the award for World Green Car 2011 exhibition New York Auto International Auto Show being held from April 22 until May 1, 2011.
"The award is given to the Volt as the World Green Car 2011 is evidence of energy-efficient technologies that are the focus given to the Chevrolet brand worldwide," commented Rick Schiedt, vice president of Chevrolet Marketing.
"This award and previous awards, reaffirms our business development team to create a good vehicle to have the potential to change the world a form of transportation around the world." He continued.
Chevrolet Volt in the Green Car category was originally elected in the 12 other brand new cars registered from around the world, and entered the top ten and finally made it into the final round three of which consist of: Chevrolet Volt, BMW 320d Efficient Dynamics and Nissan Leaf.
To be awarded as The Best World Car as a whole, each brand must have been on the market at least in the two continents in the period from 1 January 2010 to May 30, 2011. So that the Chevrolet Volt in 2012 can follow the competition World Car Award this year-end 2012 because Volt will be available in continental Europe and Asia.
